Steiner 7x50 Marine Binocular
Review
These marine binoculars offer a great combination of image retention even in low
light situations......you get outstanding light transmission
ability in all light conditions with with
a peak light transmission of over 90%...and they are easy to handle due to their black
rubber armoring. This rubber armoring
offers an easy-to-grip exterior that prevents slipping, even on a wet surface which is a handy feature in a set of marine binoculars.
And of paramount importance is that these binoculars are waterproof and shockproof...a nearly indestructible
instrument. There is a
spray guard for the eyepieces and attached
objective lens caps. When Navy SEALs and professional mariners around the
world turn to Steiner's you can't go wrong with a set
yourself.

use them for long periods of time with absolutely no problem. They are clear, and very comfortable on the
eyes."

"For low light and stability nothing beats these and they are still the best built pair I have. I would still
recommend these."
"The Steiner Marine 7x50 binoculars have met my (admittedly high) expectations. The Sports Auto-Focus is great
-- even better on my Marine pair than the Predator models that I looked at in Academy Sports. It makes changing
from viewing one object to another fast and easy. They are very clear too. With the focus set at the closest range
I can read the buttons on my microwave from across my small trailer. Using them out of doors the foliage really
pops out (even when overcast). In almost complete darkness they enable one to see things the naked eye cannot. I
have used them at night when I could barely see to walk around. The view through the binoculars was hardly affected
at all. "
"Steiner binoculars reinforce a view I've held for years: the Germans really know how to make lenses. Don't even
think about other brands if you're planning to spend $300 on binoculars. Get the Steiner!"
"I ordered these binoculars for boating and it was like growing a new pair of eyes. The quality starts with the
box they come in. The sports focus system is so easy to set and so useful compared to continually readjusting as
with other binoculars that it makes using them a pure pleasure. You can find yourself just lost in gazing at one
thing after another. The clarity is superb. The great light transfer into your eyes in low-light conditions makes
you wish you had natural night vision."
"These are a great value! Excellent optics and great in low light. As a hunter I use them a lot in low light
situations. Would highly recommend."

"This is a great pair of binoculars, however, as others have noted they are heavy. This is not a problem for me
because my main intended use for them is on a cruising Catamaran. However, for their first outing I took them on an
expedition to the Arctic and they were all that I expected. Great from the ship - everything in focus. Good with
glasses. Heavy to hike with but worth it ashore. The high point: up on the bridge of the National Geographic
Explorer what does the Captain use for navigation? - Stiener Commanders - virtually the same binocular. I initially
thought 4 stars for the rating because perfection is hard to find but considering the value for money in these
binoculars they earn the five stars."
"I purchased these binoculars for my boat. They are typical of fine German optics. High quality, crystal clear
and outstanding light gathering capabilities. Steiners compare favorably with my zeiss and Swarovski binoculars
used for hunting. As is typical of German made optics, they are a bit heavy."
"The Marine Binoculars are slightly larger than we thought but the lens clarity and the amount of light that the
binoculars allow in is excellent. I wouldn't trade them for another model.."
Q1: Is there any difference in image quality between this 7x50 Marine
and the Steiner 7x50 Military binoculars? Why does the Military version cost more?
A: Yes, there's a difference. The 7x50 Military is built to military specs and is
nearly indestructible. In addition, its optical coatings offer roughly 97% light transmission vs.
90+% for the 7x50 Marine (accounting for much of the price difference). The Military also
incorporates a range-finding reticle, which the Marine does not
