And considering the quality of view versus the low price you get, these binoculars offer a lot of bang for your buck. Many users also expressed delight at the rubberized coating on these binoculars. They offer an excellent grip when you're using them and you can rest them against an object when viewing without fear of scratching the finish. Theyy offer a wide angle view design at 8.5° of field [that translates to 446 feet at 1000 yards] and although the specifications on the close up viewing state you can get it down to 16.5 feet some users felt they could actually focus down to more like 8 to 10 feet with focusing being smooth and precise. These are excellent binoculars for birdwatching, observing wildlife or using them at a concert or sporting events to get up close to the action. One drawback is that they are not water proof or fog proof so you need to be cautious around groundwater or getting caught in heavy rain when in the field. With a crystal clear view and a focus system that is responsive and smooth you can't go wrong with these binoculars. The limited eye relief means that spectacle wearers will not see the full field (what else is new?)...but the usable field for most people will still be relatively wide when compared to most 8x40s on the market (especially in this price range)."
