Bushnell H20 8 x 42 Roof Prism Binocular Review

These binoculars are fairly lightweight at 25 oz, they offer good eye relief for those wearing glasses and they offer great viewing optics. Although designated as compact they are not super small which is what you would expect from an 8x set of binoculars. Overall, these binoculars offer you surprisingly good optical performance, a reasonably good short focus distance, easy to use eyecups [so it works well with eyeglasses or without eyeglasses] and they focus easily.

The major feature of these binoculars is that they are waterproof and O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged for reliable, fog-free performance. This feature is of major importance for anyone who spends any time in the field and in all types of weather. Your view through any binoculars is easily ruined when water enters the lens area... these binoculars make sure that won't happen and removes a large area of concern for most hunters, campers and hikers.

The only negative view of a couple of users concerned the neck strap... it was recommended users may want to consider getting a cloth neck strap with more positive adjusters that would ensure the binoculars would not slip loose and fall.

"So far I have used this pair of binoculars at a sporting event...I wear glasses, and was able to clearly see everything with my glasses on. I was even more amazed that if I wished, I could remove my glasses and still focus to see everything...I have never been able to do this before as I am very nearsighted and have astigmatism."

"I was surprise with the quality of the lens. It is clear and focusing was great I do recommend this for anyone. I have yet to take this unit out for hunting, but seems to be good for that. Buy it."

"I bought these for me and my 12 yo son to use on hiking trips. The optics are great and we like the rubberized surface of the Binos. The only draw back is that they are a little heavy for him to hold steady for a long period of time. Given the cost, I think we received excellent value."

"I purchased these as a gift for my wife who enjoys bird watching. They are exactly what I was looking for. We also have a small male child who is very active. They are able to keep up with him and keep him close. Great product, great price, my wife and I are completely satisfied. I think I have to get another pair, because we all want to use them."

"Purchased as a gift for someone who enjoys the great outdoors - especially bird watching. After reading many other reviews selected these and am impressed with the quality. While not super compact they are smaller than many and work well for birdwatching. Like the attached covers and carrying case provided."

"Right off the bat you can tell these are durable and of quality construction. The size is nice, not super compact but not bulky. They weigh 25 oz, which is not much and they don't feel even that heavy. I really like how they feel in the hands. Nice and solid. The rubber grips on the side are nice and the solid exterior skin feels complete. No wobbly bits or cheap plastic. Solid all around construction."

"Well how is performance, GREAT! The fit and finish is excellent, the extendable eye cups work perfect for me with or without glasses on. The 4 attached lens covers didn't give me any trouble and the rubber armor finish works like it should and gives a high touch of quality. Since the binos were carried in and out of a Warm Cabin into the chilly wet air I was worried about fogging up but there was non, the view was always crystal clear."

"This binoc will easily satisfy most buyers with its performance, price, and warranty. You just cannot go wrong with this one. Until now there was no really good, cheap, roof prism binocular. Now there is."
